Theme

* taking into account a need for simultaneous development of basic researches and improvement of practices in management and sustainable use of waterfowl resources,

* understanding importance of exchanging of experience between scientists from different countries joined by common waterfowl flyways

 

the following sessions are planned:

Basic researches on waterfowl biology;

Conservation and resource management of waterfowl populations along the major flyways in Northern Eurasia: sharing experience;

Development of hunting regulations and problems of waterfowl resource management under modern social-economic conditions;

Monitoring and conservation of wildfowl of artificial water bodies and farmlands

as well as the following workshops & round tables;

Spring waterfowl hunting and its future;

Seaducks: research and conservation problems;

Climate changes and waterfowl population dynamics: scope of problems.  

Avian Flu in Russia: discussions on origin, investigations planning
and cooperation with governmental bodies

 

Sessions

The scientific sessions will be held during 5 days on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday  on 06-10.10.2005.
30 minutes for the plenary talks and 15 minutes for session presentations will be available. Slide, overhead- and multimedia projectors will be available. Please, inform the organizing committee on device required in advance.
The final program of sessions with abstracts will be provided to the participants at registration.
 

Languages

The official languages of the Symposium are Russian and English. (simultaneous translation will be provided).

Absracts

Abstracts up to 2 standard pages (500 words or 3500 characters at 1.5 line spacing, margins (in cm) 3 left, 1.5 right, 2.5 top and bottom, font Times New Roman 12pt, first line 1.27, justified). Title in ‘sentence cases’, Times New Roman 12pt, bold faces, without dot at the end, centered.
Author(s) name and organization titles, contact address with e-mail for communication with editors on a separate line, right alignment, without dot at the end.

Publications

Proceedings of symposium will be published in special issue of Casarca journal. Guidelines for the authors are available at the symposium site or can be ordered from organizing committee. Manuscripts (both hard and electronic versions) are to be submitted to the organizing committee during symposium at the latest
