Language

The official language of the Congress is English.

Lunch

Lunch is included in the ICSV11 Congress registration fee and will be served Monday-Wednesday at the Restaurant of the Hotel Pribaltiyskaya, the Congress venue. All registered participants will receive lunch coupons in their registration kits.

Coffee/tea

Coffee and tea will be served during morning and afternoon breaks within the exhibition areas.

Internet

Internet access is available at the Hotel Pribaltiyskaya, the venue of the Congress, or in Internet cafes for a moderate additional charge.

Transportation

There are flights to St. Petersburg from more than 30 cities all over the world and also direct train service from many countries. Flights from most European cities to St. Petersburg take about 2-3 hours. Various types of public transportation are available in the city including underground, buses, trams, trolleybuses. A number of different taxi companies operate in St. Petersburg. Their rates can vary.

The ICSV11 Organising Committee will provide participants and registered accompanying persons with transportation from the Airport or a Railway Station only to the main Congress hotels (Pribaltiyskaya, LDM, Oktiabrskaya) and back. Find an Organising Committee representative with the Congress sign at the arrival area. Make sure that you inform the Organising Committee ahead of time of the dates, time and flight/train numbers through the ICSV11 online registration or by e-mail: icsv11@monomax.org.

Transportation from the Airport/Railway Station to the main Congress hotels (Pribaltiyskaya, LDM, Oktiabrskaya) and back is included in the registration fee of the Congress.

Time Zone

The time zone in St. Petersburg is GMT + 3 hours. Daylight Saving Time is used during the summer.

Certificate of Attendance

A certificate of attendance will be given to registered participants upon request. The certificate will be mailed out after the Congress.

Currency / Credit Cards

The official Russian currency used in all shops, transportation systems, restaurants, clubs, etc. is roubles. Approximate rates are the following: USD 1 = 28.5 RUB , EUR 1 = 35.8 RUB (March, 2004). Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, central restaurants and shops. It is advisable to carry an identity card or some form of photo identification.

Electricity

Electrical current in Russia is 220 V/50 Hz. European-style plugs are used in the Hotel Pribaltiyskaya, the Congress venue. Appliances designed to operate on 110/120 Volts need a voltage converter and an adapter plug.
