• Kazan (Kazansky) Cathedral
Built in 1801-1811 (architect
Voronikhin) to house the famous miracle-working icon of Our Lady of
Kazan (now kept in the Prince Vladimir Cathedral). Kazan Cathedral was
constructed in a shape of a Latin cross: the side facing Nevsky
Prospect shows a colonnade of 96 columns.
